"Wells Cottages to West Chiltington" is as "Bread is to Cheese" - "Not one without the other"

However, it is known that outside of West Chiltington, at Hampers Lane and at East Preston there are four Wells Cottages at each of the locations.  Their names and addresses have yet to be identified.

The table (attached) schedules all the known Wells Cottages, except those in Hampers Lane and at East Preston. 

However, as with all  things, there is never a certainty unless the original deeds can be reviewed at the Land Registry or by residents declaring that their deeds do indeed reflect that their Cottage is indeed built by Wells himself.

It can also be asummed that some properties in the area may indeed be "Look Alikes" with all the normal Wells external featutures - Dinging - Corbel Coarsing etc.  If residents feel they are in this category and not Wells uniquely we will also be pleased to hear from them, so that we might update the schedule as the uinique or look alike Wells Cottages are identified. 

Likewise there may be other Cottages not yet listed, that might easily be classified as "Look a like Wells" by their owners.  We will be pleased to hear from anyone with definitive information in this respect.
