IMPORTANT & URGENT INFORMATION

 

To all members.


Urgent need to e-mail or write to Horsham District Council about the proposed new houses in and near our village


The sites are:

  1. The land to the west of Broadford Bridge Road, and South of Adversane Lane-known as the Adversane/North Heath New Town (some 400 acres)

  2. The 6 acres beside the village hall playing fields towards Finches Lane and

  3. The fields to the north of East Street from Broadford Bridge Road to Sinnocks.

All of these sites are now being reconsidered for housing, at a density of 10 per acre!

The main grounds for objection are;

inadequate infrastructure, i.e. roads, water supply, sewerage, power, both gas and electricity, schools and medical provision.

Finally, this needs to be done before the 15th October, the closing date is the 16th.

WEST CHILTINGTON RURAL PRESERVATION SOCIETY

 

Why not join the “West Chiltington Rural Preservation Society? 


It was founded in 1965 with now 42 years of effective operation of local and national matters of conservation and preservation. 


By browsing the web you will have located our website and will have reached our front page. 

 

In the top left hand side you will be able to click on “Our constitution” and will see we are a “Not for Profit Organisation” We welcome everyone and anyone who has a high regard for the ideals of conservation and preservation. 

 

The Society has 600 plus members which is a strength that makes our society's corporate voice very effective when required.  

 

Members mostly live in the UK and the majority in and around the village of West Chiltington and local district and in the wider area of West Sussex and beyond.  Since membership is for a lifetime we are certain there are many more that joined locally and then moved to other areas and some possibly to world wide locations.

The society will email you back with your access details, which will open up the site to give you (our members) a dynamic view of our day to day operations and web links to other sites of interest. 

 

For new member applications we likewise will process your application for membership immediately we receive the application form and all your contact details (as above). 

 

The society will make distribution by email and send you the following as they are approved for issue; WCRPS Newsletters – Speaker Lists with topics and dates – Notices of meetings – Annual Society Report – Annual General Meeting notifications and AGM approved minutes – plus specials as they might arise in the future. 

 

We are always looking for help on our website content and electronic publishing (with hard copy back up for archive records) for items allied to our main thrusts of conservation and preservation and also in the wider issues of; woodlands, local parks, national parks, creation of new national parks, historical items of local interest, historical mapping and events, listed buildings, footpaths, fly tipping - community refuse sites - speed limits in the village - photographic village history, the list is endless and we are at the start of our journey.  Any help, minor or major in this area will be most welcomed.
